Elementary School Principal

The Role

Greenville Central School District is seeking a visionary and collaborative leader to serve as Elementary School Principal. This role is designed for an educator who can seamlessly weave together the daily operations of an elementary school with our overarching mission: to be a place where everyone learns, teaches and belongs. The Principal will be a steward of our Curriculum, Culture, and Community framework. The Principal will lead our students, faculty, and staff in grades PreK -5.

Core Responsibilities

As part of a robust, collaborative leadership team, the principal serves as an instructional leader, translating district goals into classroom success. You will lead faculty meetings and collaborate with Department Chairs to strengthen vertical and horizontal alignment, creating a seamless, connected learning experience for all students. Through oversight of the School Comprehensive Education Plan (SCEP) you will support the full implementation of district curriculum initiatives. You will be the architect of a welcoming, safe, secure, supportive, and engaging school environment. You will serve on the building Safety and Facilities committees, overseeing regular safety drills and daily operations to ensure a high-functioning, secure campus. You will lead the hiring, supervision, and evaluation of a diverse team, including teachers, clerical staff, teaching assistants, and aides. The Principal bridges the gap between the school and the Greenville community. You will improve family engagement and trust by strengthening systems for timely, two-way communication between teachers and caregivers regarding individual student progress. As a key member of the Building Leadership Team (BLT) and District Leadership Team (DLT), you will align building-level operations—including the Master Schedule, building budget, and testing coordination—with the district’s broader mission. You will coordinate building events and evening programs that celebrate student achievement and foster a sense of shared belonging.
